Blessing Patients’ Food and Lives for Forty Years

They start every workday with prayer.  They pray for their coworkers, they pray for their leaders, they pray for their ministry—and they’ve been doing it for 40 years.

“Heavenly Father…we thank you for this opportunity to do our job, and do it for your glory.  Lord we ask You to use us mightily, this day.”

Willie and Bettye put patient food trays together at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital.  But it doesn’t stop at that.  Willie and Bettye pray for and bless all of the trays that are distributed throughout the hospital.

“We just wanna make a difference.  And when we do our job, we’re doing it as doing it unto the Lord,” said Bettye.

Willie has seen God answer prayers in her life by sustaining her through many health problems, including multiple bypass surgeries.  She takes the life that God has given her and shares it every day.

“Every morning he wakes us up.  So there’s your blessing right there.”
